Unifier Charger: Cable Management Tips for a Tidy Desk

Use the Unifier wireless charger as the anchor of a cord-free desk. Follow these steps to route, store, and care for the cables that remain.

Quick answer

Start by placing the Unifier where you naturally set your phone down, then route its single power cable along the back edge of the desk. That one move removes the daily clutter of loose charging cords and gives you a fixed home for the cables you still need.

Why one cable beats a drawer of them

A wireless charger does not eliminate cables; it consolidates them. The Unifier needs one power connection, but that connection can be routed once and left alone. The trade-off is that Qi charging is slower than a wired fast-charge for some phones, so keep a single wired cable stored nearby for the days you need a quick top-up rather than leaving it permanently on the desk.

When a tidy station still needs a cable

If you charge a laptop, tablet, or camera at the same desk, a fully wireless setup is not realistic. Plan for one accessible cable for those devices and keep it coiled or clipped rather than draped across the work surface. The goal is not zero cables but zero cables that move every day.

How to set up a tidy charging station

  1. Choose a fixed spot for the Unifier: Place the Unifier where you already put your phone down, such as the back corner of the desk or on a bedside table. A common mistake is moving it around; a fixed spot lets you route the cable once and forget it. Mark the spot with a small piece of tape during the first week if you tend to drift.
  2. Route the power cable along the back edge: Run the Unifier's cable along the rear edge of the desk and down the back leg, using adhesive clips or a cable raceway. Avoid crossing the work area, where it will snag on notebooks and cups. Leave a small service loop near the charger so you can lift the pad to clean without unplugging it.
  3. Label and store the one wired cable you keep: Keep a single wired charging cable for fast top-ups or non-Qi devices. Coil it loosely, secure it with a hook-and-loop strap, and store it in a drawer or clip it under the desk edge. Do not leave it plugged in and dangling. If you have not used the stored cable in a month, move it to another room rather than keeping it on the desk.
  4. Check the LED and clean the pad weekly: The LED light on the Unifier shows charging status; if your phone is not charging, first check that the cable is fully seated and the pad is free of dust. Wipe the pad with a dry cloth and keep liquids away from it. A phone that slides around on the pad may need a thinner case or a more level surface.

Product facts

  • Unifier | charger: Qi-compatible wireless charging for smartphones and other Qi-supported devices, with an LED light to monitor charging. You can charge a phone or the Asteria Move lamp by placing it on the pad, so the only cable to manage is the charger's own power cord.
